The Person of Steady Wisdom

प्रजहाति यदा कामान्सर्वान्पार्थ मनोगतान्। आत्मन्येवात्मना तुष्टः स्थितप्रज्ञस्तदोच्यते॥
prajahāti yadā kāmān sarvān pārtha mano-gatān ātmany evātmanā tuṣṭaḥ sthita-prajñas tadocyate
Translation

O Partha, when a person completely gives up all desires born of mental craving, and when the mind finds satisfaction in the self alone — that person is said to be of steady wisdom.

Meaning

Arjuna asks Krishna to describe the sthita-prajna — the person of steady wisdom. Krishna answers: someone who has moved the source of contentment from outside to inside. Not the absence of the world, but the presence of inner fulfilment. This is the goal of all the preceding teachings.
